About the event
Hair, Folklore & Magic
Exploring the rich folklore and magical traditions of hair and brush handcrafting ritual.
Step into an intimate exploration of hair beyond colour, beyond the cut—as an extension of identity and power. Braided through centuries of folklore, tradition, and ritual, hair is bound within a rich history. One’s locks have long been regarded as holding personal essence—acting as a physical conduit for energy, memory, and emotion. Brushing the hair has been used as a daily ritual to cleanse, remove negative or lingering energies, and protect one’s personal power. In Romani traditions, often rooted in broader European folk practices, hair is seen as a powerful and sacred conduit for personal energy. The act of brushing and tending to the hair becomes a ritual for protection and the maintenance of spiritual well-being.
